David and the boys are on spring break, but MJC doesn't take a spring break. I think it is the only institute of learning that doesn't, and I'm not really happy about that, but . . . oh well . . . I don't teach on Mondays, so we compressed our family spring break into one day, and it was a wonderful day. We went back to one of our favorite old stomping grounds where we had not been in quite some time. It was a good rediscovery! Here are David and the boys at Point Lobos.
Caleb found a cool place to sit!
It felt good to get away from my work and get my feet in the sand!
Different little beaches along the same stretch of shore had very different "sand."
Here are Jacob and Caleb and their two trees.
MY BOYS!!!
There are lots of wonderful views at Point Lobos. Here we are looking at one -
- and here is what we were looking at. I LOVE the color of the water here!
I think Anthony was about 6 or 7 the last time we were here - maybe younger. He sure has grown up! It was good to get the boys back here again. They loved it!
Jacob saw forms of his favorite animal in this rock. Can you tell what it is?

At the end of the day we spent time in Monterey - on Fisherman's Wharf and walking along the shore. It was a very, very good day!
I may put up more pictures in the next day or so. I put these up pretty quickly tonight, and it's after midnight as I post, so I'm stopping there. I guess taking the time to do this now is my way of holding onto the day a little longer! :-)

Thanks for the pictures. I do miss Monterey and that area of the coast!
I see a dolphin.
I love the pictures. It looks like you enjoyed the time away even though it was short.
Amy: This is at Point Lobos near Monterey - a place we spent a lot of time at when Mom and Dad still had the trailer at Soquel. We'd love to have you back out here as soon as you can make it happen! :-)
Tony: You are the "Mostly Poetry Post Question Champion!" :-)
Marlene: We managed to pack a week's worth of fun into a day and a half! It was GREAT! I'm eager to hear how your Easter dinner went and how the evening service was (sorry to have missed that combined service!)
Ok, well we have 7 more years of service left and we are going to try to get our last few years stationed in CA. So California here we come :)
