This is a list of verses that are particularly meaningful to me right now.
It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us FREE. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
. . . be transformed by the renewing of your mind . . . Romans 12:2
. . . we were so utterly, unbearably crushed that we despaired of life itself. Why, we felt that we had received the sentence of death but that was to make us RELY not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead; He delivered us from so deadly a peril, and he will deliver us; on him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. II Corinthians 8b-10
See, I am doing a
NEW thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19
But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh my LORD, I am not eloquent, either heretofore or since thou hast spoken to thy servant; but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” Then the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him dumb, or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” Exodus 4:10-12
You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view than mine; and he who is troubling you will bear his judgment . . . Galatians 5: 7&10
The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17
So there remains a
SABBATH REST for the people of God; for whoever enters God’s
REST also ceases from his labors as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9
He brought me out into a broad and spacious place; He delivered me because He delighted in me. Psalm 18:19
And the Lord said to Moses, “Is the Lord’s hand shortened? NOW you shall see whether my word will come true for you or not.” Numbers 11:23
Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me FREE. Psalm 118:5
It is for
FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

I needed to read this tonight...thank you for posting it. (What do the characters in the title mean?)
You are so welcome! Let's both keep these promises in mind and trust God's goodness and wait for Numbers 11:23. The characters in the title are Hebrew: Shabbat Shalom, Sabbath Rest (but more than just rest)
My friend Barbara and I had been talking about that term, and I'd like to share the lovely words she shared with me this morning in this regard:
Neal Plantinga summarizes the expansiveness of shalom:
"The webbing together of God, humans, and all creation in justice, fulfillment, and delight is what the Hebrew prophets call shalom.
We call it peace, but it means far more than mere peace of mind or a cease-fire between enemies.
In the Bible shalom means universal flourishing, wholeness, and delight - a rich state of affairs in which natural needs are satisfied and natural gifts are fruitfully employed, a state of affairs that inspires joyful wonder as its Creator and Savior opens doors and welcomes the creatures in whom he delights.
Shalom, in other words, is the way things ought to be."
Hi - me again. Isn't that beautiful? (Did you notice that Hebrew characters on my August 12 entry? I love language!)
Shalom to you, my friend!
Hi Heidi, Cathy and I have accesssed this page tonight when we met. The Scriptures were helpful to us. Thank you. LISA
